ACEntertainment presents: The W8 On Empty Space Art Show

On the 26th and 27th of June, come and celebrate St. Paul Slim’s painter persona a.k.a TheW8OnEmptySpace at PLOT as he showcases his unique take on the traditional artist/art show. Slim is making major moves this summer as he recently had hosting duties at the Rhymesayer’s Soundset festival 2015 and will be performing and hosting at Milwaukee’s Summerfest in July. For the first time The W8 On Empty Space will be showing and selling his original artwork and prints at this two-day gallery event.
The event will take place on Friday, June 26, from 5-10 PM, and Saturday, June 27, from 12-4 PM, at Plot. Plot is located at 1016 W 27th St, #100, Minneapolis, MN 55408.
St. Paul Slim is methodically quiet and prefers to sit back and observe, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Don’t write him off as shy or docile, though, because for as somber as Slim can be, he can be equally boisterous and rowdy. He’ll get in your face to deliver the harsh reality of everyday life in the inner city. Born in Chicago and raised in St. Paul, Slim’s hard past is the creative fuel powering his career. If he raps about a gun, it’s because he’s carried one. If he rhymes about gang violence, it’s because he’s dealt with it and witnessed it. “Everything’s got a lesson to it,” Slim says. Growing up during Hip Hop’s heyday, Slim’s music reflects his desire to bring the genre back to those roots.
