How do we locate the space that exists between us and ourselves? Chemical compounds coming together to create an inner dialogue. Meshing our thoughts into our bodies, rotating them around and reflecting on the community that lives outside of us. How do we locate the space that exists between ourselves and our community? Where is the balance outside of ourselves, if we can not simply find it there, inside of us. Twisting and turning. Twisting and turning. Twisting and turning, until the light goes off. Twist and turn. Twist and turn. Twist and turn until it comes on. We can become one. We can become separate. This phenomena happens multiple times through out our life. We never get it quite right. We will always be lost, and we should come to terms with the fact that….

Ayvah is a collection of jazz-trained musicians and hip-hop lovers rooted in soul; as they combine all of these influential and eclectic sounds, Ayvah has emerged as a jazz-funk, neo-soul band. Ayvah creates music from a wide base of inspiration, including love, heartbreak, coming of age, sexuality, poetry, nature and more. Minneapolis/Saint Paul based, Ava (lead vocals), Sam (keys), Ethan (bass), Joey (drums) and Andy (guitar) bring a strong sense artistry and collaboration to all local music niches.
