Dessa is a rapper, singer, essayist, and a proud member of the Minneapolis Doomtree collective. Her live
performances include rapid-fire rap songs, heartbreak ballads, catchy choruses, and some charismatic banter fueled by charm and whiskey. The Utne Reader calls her “A one-woman powerhouse…with a literary sensibility and an aversion to genre clichés.”
