Illegal Civilization is a group of young filmmakers based out of North Hollywood, founded by Mikey Alfred. They made their initial mark through a collection of uniquely-branded skate videos, featuring Na-Kel Smith and other staple members of the skate community, and eventually went on to shoot a number of short films (The Fader, Mac Miller), full-length documentaries (Tyler the Creator’s “Cherry Bomb”) and intimate tour compilations (Frank Ocean, Aminé). Following his Vogue shoot with Kendall Jenner and Tyler the Creator, Mikey is currently shooting footage for their Viceland show as well co-producing Jonah Hill’s new feature film.
