Hey Lovelites!
Luke James is making his second appearance #onlite and I couldn’t be more excited to talk about his self-titled debut album. Luke made his debut #onlite with his cover of Sam Smith’s song “Stay with me” which also appears on the deluxe version of this album. Check out my first post on Luke here. This album was released on September 23rd and I quickly became acquainted with it. I have been anticipating a full length album from Luke since I heard his song I.O.U and this album was definitely worth the wait. The R&B crooner used the classic album approach in putting this album together; This album has great production, great songs, minimal features, and just showcasing himself as a strong vocalist with a strong pen game. Luke showcased a variety of vocal ranges, runs, placement, and quality throughout this project and it was very refreshing to listen too. Especially in certain songs when he hit those Falsetto notes, I was like YASSSSSSSS luke. =).
Luke has every type of song you’d expect from a classic R&B album; songs that make you want to love, make you think about your ex, make your feel sexy, and songs that make you feel happy you left. I think people will resonate with the songs on this album despite of their current relationship status, it’s beautiful and sincere music. Luke put together a great body of work and for those who think R&B is dead, do yourself a favor and give this album a listen. I guarantee you’ll change your mind about that. I look forward to seeing Luke evolve and diversify his sound and catalog, I have no doubt there are great things in store for him in the future. I look forward to hopefully seeing Luke on tour, I’m sure he’ll be touring for this album. *fingers crossed*.
