Milo – So The Flies Don’t Come [New Album]

It took less than a week for Milo’s new album So The Flies Don’t Come to become the #1 album on Bandcamp when it was released on September 25th. Milo is a hip-hop artist that hails from Milwaukee, WI, He is also a member of the music label/collective Hellfyre Club (Nocando, Open Mike Eagle, Busdriver, & more). Milo has released music under the moniker Scallops Motel as well. On this album, Milo has an aggressive yet introspective vibe. He refers to himself as the lazy theologian, the clumsiest poet, and the zen scientist, Milo’s rhymes are easy to understand and relate too. He is confident but not afraid to look inside himself, most obviously in the song “@yomilo” but also in what I would call the climax of the album “An Encyclopedia”. Milo’s flow and production are perfectly paired and executed on tracks like “True Nen” and “Souvenir”. Milo’s thoughtful and intricate lyrics fly by as he keeps up with relevant topics that our generation can relate too. This album is one to sit and vibe too.

Milo’s flow is a great change up from the “typical radio” hits of today, so if you’re looking to switch it up check out So the Flies Don’t Come below. Milo is going on tour and his tour will be stopping in Minneapolis at Honey with special guest Safari Al (Journeyman Hip-hopper). He will also be supported by a few local acts as well. Check out the rest of the dates on the tour below as well.
